Spirits… demons or devils… angels and archons… animals or perhaps
something of unfathomable reason; whatever it was in Kalris’ mind
while he slept was more than just a dream. It was becoming his
reality. The Eternal Gaze peered into his mind, the forgotten family
of gypsies ripped from memory. The feeling of sand in his mouth, his
eyes aching from overwhelming brightness, he stumbles out of his
slumber and finds himself in arid grassland. His eyes slowly adjusting

vigilant fox over him, her tongue licking the sweat from his forehead,
pressing her nose against his face. His feeble attempts to recollect
the faces of his dreams fade the memories of his family and their
deaths leaving nothing but the Malevolent Essence burned into his
